San Diego Guide to 2020 Super Bowl LIV

Let’s face it: Hosting a Super Bowl party is hard work. All of the food prep, clean-up, and rowdy houseguests can make this day into a nightmare. So why not go out and enjoy some drinks, eat some great food without the clean-up, and cheer on your team? Whether you root for the 49ers or the Chiefs, spend February 2 at one of these San Diego spots. Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, so we made the list for you. Now all you have to do is choose which spot sounds best to you.

If you want a place with 20 or more TVs…

Head downtown to barleymash and watch the game on one of their 45 TVs.  Last year, Sports Illustrated named it one of the best places in the country to watch the Super Bowl, so call to reserve or get there early to claim your spot.

If you’re planning on staying away from the craziness of downtown, Slater’s 50/50 in Liberty Station and Draft Republic in Carlsbad both have over 50 TVs to choose from. Grab a seat anywhere because chances are good that you’ll be facing at least one TV. Enjoy Social Hour Specials all day at Draft Republic and sip on one of the hundred beers on tap at Slater’s.

If you want a comfy chair…

Take a trip to the Gaslamp Quarter and grab a seat at the Theatre Box in one of their luxury dine-in seats. Get two beers and a tub of popcorn, priced at $15. Or get yourself one beer, a tub of popcorn and a burger for just $25.

Or if you want to take a little trip up to Funner, CA, go to Harrah’s Resort Southern California and settle into one of their plush recliners located in the Events Center.  Watch the game on a giant screen and have the chance to meet some NFL greats like Antonio Gates, Donnie Edwards, and James Lofton.

If you are a 49ers fan…

Don your scarlet and gold and head on over to Pacific Beach. You will find your people at Moonshine Beach where all 49ers fans will get drink specials like $25 Bud Light or Budweiser Buckets and $30 Elysian Space Dust, Stella Artois, or White Claw Buckets. There is no cover, doors open at noon, and it’s first come, first served, so don’t be late!

If you are a Chiefs fan…

The name of this spot says it all: Kansas City Barbeque. This restaurant is also known as the “Top Gun Bar” because scenes from the movie Top Gun were filmed there. Besides the fact that Tom Cruise may have sat where you are sitting right now, this spot offers BBQ, local craft beers, and fellow Chiefs fans.

Or make your way over to Home and Away in any of their locations (Old Town and Encinitas) to be greeted by friendly faces dressed in red and gold.
