City Ballet of San Diego Presents "The Nutcracker"

Set to the traditional 1892 Tchaikovsky score, City Ballet of San Diego presents The Nutcracker at Spreckels Theatre December 6–22. The Victorian-era story follows young Clara’s dream on Christmas Eve—Sugar Plum Fairy, the Nutcracker Prince, and Rat King all accounted for. With over 60 ballets in her repertoire, choreographer Elizabeth Wistrich is sure to spirit audiences away into a magical pine forest and the land of sweets.

And if that weren’t sweet enough, this year City Ballet is introducing a new sensory-friendly performance on December 11. This one-hour show—with dimmed lights, sound, and relaxed theater rules—is tailored toward those with special needs so they, too, can enjoy this holiday classic.
