From ballet as a child to nights out with friends to picking up new moves in South America, dance has been a lifelong passion for Marin Xavier, MD, hematologist and medical oncologist, Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center and Scripps Clinic. However, she temporarily shelved her dancing shoes to focus on medicine, marriage, and children. A chance meeting with a cancer patient would inspire her to pick up where she left off and the two went on to choreograph a routine for a cancer research fundraiser.
