In golf, clarity is critical. The mental aspect comes into play with every shot. Being able to address the mind, body, and spirit and how they all connect is a major benefit for golfers looking to make a real difference not only in their game but also in the overall experience on the course.

At the Vista health spa Cal-a-Vie, golfers can indulge in the Golf Getaway Package, which combines a wellness retreat with a golf getaway. The goal? Improve your physical and mental health through a variety of programs.

Upon check-in, meet with a counselor to discuss specific goals for your stay. The counselor then makes recommendations on the classes and lectures that will benefit you most. Each overall wellness area is addressed as it relates to your golf game:

Fitness

Golfers need cardio, strength, and flexibility (specifically targeting the core) training when addressing physical improvement geared toward their golf swing. Of the 125 fitness classes available, many benefit golfers directly, including a Joints in Motion Aqua Workout, which flows through a series of moves in 91-degree water to improve range of motion. Naturally, the Golf Getaway Package includes golf at neighboring Vista Valley Country Club’s championship course, with option for instruction.

Mind-Body-Spirit

It’s not just about the physical action. At Cal-a-Vie, golfers can take part in activities that’ll flex those mental muscles. Look out for classes in meditation, Yoga for Golf, and Strength & Grace, a practice that helps connect steady breathing with a series of poses.

Nutrition

Since a round of golf can take anywhere from 3.5 to five hours, golfers must maintain a consistent energy level. They lead cooking classes, offer tips on hydration and healthy snacking, and host nutrition lectures that can reshift your food focus, like adding more greens—and no, we’re not talking about the kind you putt on—to your diet.
