Monarch School welcomed a positive and fun-loving crowd—including the Swingin’ Friar—during its record-breaking fundraiser, Raise Up for Monarch. Guests were treated to music, bubbly, and a self-guided tour of the campus. Monarch students were able to showcase their various talents and projects from inside the classroom to the art studio to the kids’ kitchen (rainbow skewers!). Petco Park catered the cocktail hour, then student performers kicked off the program portion in the gym with a choreographed dance. One enthusiastic student and a bright alumna spoke about their individual journeys before a raise-the-paddle garnered an unprecedented $1.9 million. The money supports Monarch services and learning opportunities, allowing students experiencing homelessness to find a supportive, enriching, and happy home in Monarch.
