Over eight days in early May, the American Red Cross of San Diego/Imperial Counties visited eight different locations and raised more than $500,000. The funds generated during the Shelter of Hope campaign will help support and raise awareness for the local chapter’s emergency relief efforts. Throughout the eight day span, local Red Cross CEO Sean Mahoney and board members took turns sleeping on a Red Cross cot in a simulated disaster shelter.
"Every hour given and every dollar raised allows the Red Cross to continue to provide help and hope to families in need," Mahoney said.
