There is a lot to love about Southpaw Social Club’s new fall menu. From cheese-topped bacon-wrapped meatballs swimming in marinara sauce to fried green tomato sliders on flaky buttermilk biscuits, your comfort food cravings are covered, but the only two words you really need to know are bacon poutine. Made with crisp, thin-cut spuds, light beef gravy, diced applewood smoked bacon, and (most importantly) a generous portion of squeaky white Cheddar cheese curds imported from Wisconsin, it’s a refreshingly authentic presentation of a dish that never asked to be complicated. This Canadian enthusiastically approves. 815 J Street
