Rosarito’s Best Seafood Tacos

By Derrik Chinn

What began as a roadside fruit stand south of Rosarito is now home to K38, an unassuming blue hut serving the best seafood tacos in northern Baja and nicknamed after the famed surf break. Inventory arrives fresh daily from nearby Popotla and includes staples like octopus tacos. A decade of word-of-mouth marketing via surfer fans from all over the world has led to a constant flow of taco pilgrims—and a restaurant by the same name in North Carolina. But don’t worry, we were here first.

Getting There:

Exit the Tijuana–Ensenada toll road at Rosarito, head south along the free road, and look for the 75-foot Christ of the Sacred Heart statue. K38 is across the street. Closed Tuesdays.
