On the Menu: Brussels Sprouts

If any vegetable has ever needed some PR, it's Brussels sprouts. Informally known everywhere as the epitome of "icky vegetables", the miniature wild cabbage has never really got its due. That is, until now. Restaurants all over San Diego are giving Brussels sprouts a shot at redemption, by preparing them in a host of tasty, new ways. If you've only ever had Mom (or Grandma's) "boiled to oblivion" Brussels sprouts, it's time you gave them another chance at by trying these dishes at local restaurants:

Crispy Brussels sprouts with pancetta, parmesan and balsamic at Bo-Beau - $8 (pictured above)

Popcorn brussels sprouts (Flash-fried Brussels sprouts topped with parmesan bread crumbs and bacon bits) at Analog - $8

Fiery Brussels sprouts at Currant - $6.95

Brussels sprouts with peppered bacon at The Range - $4 or Bacon Brussels sprouts at R-Gang Eatery -$5

Burnt Brussels sprouts + Ivan's hot sauce at Cucina Urbana - $6.50

Roasted Brussels sprouts with house mustard and chive at Local Habit $4

Have you tried any of these Brussels sprouts dishes? Let us know!
