Let's face it, often the three most important parts of the day are breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And that's why here at SanDiegoMagazine.com, we're beefing up our food and restaurant coverage by shining the spotlight on tasty meals under $10. Foie gras and Kobe beef still have a place at our table, but these meals are so reasonably priced, you can eat them every day.

If you work in downtown San Diego, you might have noticed the long lines surrounding Sushi Deli 2 during lunch time. Why the large crowd? Because San Diegans love a good deal and Sushi Deli 2 offers some of the cheapest sushi rolls in the city, that's why.

The 4 x 4 Combo is a steal at $7.99 (and one of four combos below $10). If sushi's not your thing, there are also lunch combination specials with chicken, beef and tempura. The 4 x 4 combo has four pieces of each of the following rolls: crunchy, spicy tuna, caterpillar and rainbow. If you dine in, you can get it with either soup or salad. For the best value, get your combo to go and you'll get soup and salad (or swap out your soup for a drink).

Unfortunately, they won’t let you order by phone, but once you arrive at the restaurant, you can skip the crowds and place your order inside.

Lunch is served from 11am-2pm Monday through Friday. The best time to go is after 1pm, when the lunch crowd begins to dwindle down.
