Beer of the Week: 17th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA

Cloudy days and colder weather call for full-bodied beers and spicy comfort food, like the 17th Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA from Great Divide Brewing Company. This double IPA is aged in bourbon barrels and has an earthy, oaky aroma with hints of vanilla in the background. It's maltier and sweeter than most double IPAs, which means it can go down dangerously easy. Medium-bodied and caramel in color, this beer pairs well with a variety of different dishes, but is particularly refreshing alongside a spicy entree.

Beer Type: Imperial IPA, 10% ABV

Available at: Try a pint of this brew at The Beer Company in downtown San Diego.

Pair it with: This bold beer is best with spicy dishes like the Thai Chicken Pizza, Cajun Chicken Sandwich, or the Jambalaya.
