About Dr. David L. Wolf

For Dr. Wolf, plastic surgery involves both skill and art. This requires blending a keen appreciation of natural beauty and the sound judgment that comes with years of experience. Excellence in plastic surgery requires precision, skill and great attention to detail. Practicing in La Jolla since 1981, Dr. Wolf has grown his busy practice based primarily on referrals from patients who were pleased with both their experience and their results. One of the main goals that Dr. Wolf tries to achieve is to make sure that the patients have as much time as needed so that they may fully explain their wishes and concerns. He then informs them of the possible options regarding surgery, his recommendations, and then all of the information which the patient needs to understand the proposed surgery and the recovery. He notes that the best plastic surgery is surgery that does not have the “plastic surgery” look. To achieve this requires meticulous attention to detail. “The results should be remarkable, but should also look soft and natural,” he says. “For instance, with a facelift, if the patient looks tight, pulled or drawn, this represents a poor result. The best surgery is always that surgery that achieves the desired goals, but never looks surgical. “I have a strong artistic appreciation of true beauty,” says Dr. Wolf. “It’s not just a matter of doing this or that procedure. It’s striving for a result based on what real beauty looks like, what’s achievable and yet still looks very natural. Plastic surgery is an art because each patient is different,” Dr. Wolf explains. Dr. Wolf does not do fillers or Botox. His focus is exclusively on cosmetic surgery. Dr. Wolf feels that by focusing strictly on cosmetic surgery, he is able to achieve the best possible surgical results.
