Glimpses of Gold

"I’ve been fortunate to have worked five Olympic Games, so far. One highlight was marching in the Opening Ceremonies for the Sydney Olympics in 2000. Entering the stadium surrounded by the bright lights, the roaring crowd, and the excitement from the athletes was unreal."

"I recently went to Barbados and Salina Cruz, Mexico, with Reef and got some insane waves ... and I DJ at some of the most fun clubs around the world, like Voyeur in San Diego, and get loose with my mate [pro surfer] Leigh Sedley!"

Roadside Fiestas

"We take lots of trips to Jalisco, Mexico, where they grow blue agave plants for both tequila and agave nectar. A personal driver picks us up in Guadalajara and after a few hours in the sun, we always stop at a little roadside place with the locals. It’s 11 a.m. and the cantaritos are flowing: fresh oranges, limes and grapefruit, salt, the best local tequila, and a dash of Squirt, and you’re good to go. It’s not a bad way to top off a morning of work."

Dreams Come True

"I am able to host various groups in the U.S. Bank Dream Suite during Padres games at PETCO Park. For instance, we invited a number of Wounded Warriors who shared their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan with us—and they were thanking us that night. Imagine that! We are literally able to go to a game and enjoy all of our freedoms because of them and they are thanking us for a memorable evening at the ballpark. It truly is the most rewarding part of my job."

Robert Horsman, 64, Point Loma

Regional chairman, U.S. Bank
