Eyes on the Skies Grab your earplugs and crane your neck. The skies are reserved for barrel rolls, lazy eights, dives, and more stunts in the 2018 Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Air Show. Twenty aviation teams and solo talents, military and civilian alike, are slated for takeoff—and touchdown—during the weekend-long event.

Highlights include the US Army Golden Knights parachuting team, which flies an American flag at 12,000 feet; the iconic US Navy Blue Angels squadron with its aptly named support plane, Fat Albert; and, racing the flyers from the runway, a Shockwave Jet Truck that tops out at a Guinness Record–holding 376 mph. This year, the spectacle commemorates 100 years of women enlisted in the US Marine Corps. Oorah!
