On the Vineyard

A wine release party is more intimate than a festival, and more personal, too, since there’s an atmosphere of ownership and pride over something that has been planted, nurtured, and made from scratch. It’s the wine equivalent of welcoming a baby.

Owners Craig and Kathryn Hall are hosting their annual Harvest Party at HALL Wines in Napa Valley, September 13. Vintners, wine lovers, and foodies will converge on the winery’s Great Lawn to toast the release of the 2011 Kathryn Hall Cabernet Sauvignon. Sipping will prove satisfying, as HALL has a great track record. The 2008 vintage ranked second in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines, and more than 140 HALL Wines have been rated at least 90 points by Robert Parker. hallwines.com

On September 13, PlumpJack Winery in the Oakville region of Napa will celebrate the release of  its 2011 Reserve Cabernet. The intimate event will have a food wagon and is expected to sell out quickly.

Calling all Groth fans! Head to Napa October 4 for the release of their 2011 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The picturesque Groth Vineyards & Winery will serve food from the popular restaurant Brix. Guests can also enjoy barrel tastings, live music, and grape-stomping, and can also meet owners Dennis and Judy Groth and their daughter Suzanne. grothwines.com
