Ye Hongxing: Another Space No. 6, 2014

A Chinese artist, Hongxing uses decorative stickers and crystals to create collages on canvas. Her brightly colored creations blend pop-culture motifs with traditional Chinese imagery and have a childlike quality.

Gauguin to Warhol

San Diego Museum of Art
October 4–January 27

See who’s who in the art world at this exhibit that boasts more than 70 works from renowned artists, including Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, and Andy Warhol.

The Colores de la Muerte

California Center for the Arts, Escondido
October 2–November 14

Celebrate Dia de los Muertos at this sprawling center’s exhibit presented in conjunction with the Mingei International Museum. It will feature mixed media sculptures, a series of train cars, and an altar installation honoring Octavio Paz.
