The newly redesigned downtown plaza offers visitors a welcoming pedestrian-friendly experience. With pathways that meander through the new gleaming shops and restaurants, you’ll find attractive landscaping and shaded seating areas as well as additional planned new elements to be unveiled in the coming months and years. The new downtown plaza is located in the heart of the downtown core and captures the city’s energetic pulse point. You’ll find an abundance of eateries – Blaze Pizza, Tommy Bahamas and Marlin Bar, Juniper Table, as well as the stylish rooftop 4 Saints and High Bar at the new Kimpton Hotel — The Rowan, with more coming soon.

For an enjoyable respite from your downtown stroll, drop in to the Starbucks Reserve located at the hub of downtown – at the corner of Palm Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way. This is not your mother’s Starbucks – this is nirvana for coffee snobs! The Starbucks Reserve stores, one of the first in the country, are designed to elevate the coffee experience to a celebration. You can choose your brew from many global coffee regions and any number of brewing options such as clover brewed, pour-over, cold brew, nitro cold brew, coffee press, chemex, and the siphon brew method.

And what would a downtown experience be without some retail therapy? The downtown plaza has that covered, too.

In the downtown plaza and along Palm Canyon Drive, you’ll find a variety of mom and pop shops, boutiques, as well as select national chains that make shopping in Palm Springs a fun experience of discovery. The first major retailer to open in the downtown plaza was West Elm and has now been joined by a bevy of other retailers. New additions to the Palm Springs shopping scene are Kiehl’s, MAC, H&M, and Johnny Was — all located at the downtown plaza. Watch for others to make their debut in the coming months and future phases.

Be sure not to miss an opportunity to stroll our vibrant Uptown, too! Visitors will come to realize that Palm Springs’ fun and cool zeitgeist cannot be contained in a few short blocks of the downtown area – it even spans to another wholly individual part of town – the Uptown Design District. Here you’ll discover several blocks of chic boutiques, midcentury modern vintage/retro resale stores, stylish home décor, and many notable dining options and fun watering holes.
