Call of the Wild: National Geographic Fine Art Gallery

Published:

Balboa Park has the San Diego Zoo and Escondido has the Zoo Safari Park, but now La Jolla has its own claim to wildlife fame. The first ever National Geographic Fine Art Gallery has landed on Prospect with a collection of NatGeo photography ranging from the late 1800s to today. Diverse landscapes, cultures, and wildlife, including Beverly Joubert’s 2011 portrait of an elephant in Botswana (above), are on display to highlight the organization’s passion for world exploration and preservation. All works are available for purchase, and the gallery will host lectures, signings, and a grand opening this month with photographer Brian Skerry diving into the art of underwater photography.

1205 Prospect Street, La Jolla
