Love Never Dies

March 1:

Traverse 50 acres of colorful blooms while they’re in season at The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch (through 5/13).

Stand-up comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham brings his off-color cast to Valley View Casino Center.

Ukulele powerhouse Jake Shimabukuro performs his fast finger work at California Center for the Arts, Escondido.

Grammy Award–winning French pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard performs at Balboa Theatre.

 

March 2:

See what all the noise is about as STOMP brings their unconventional percussion show to Balboa Theatre one weekend only.

 

March 3:

The two-day CRSSD Festival delivers electronic dance music from over 40 artists to three stages at Waterfront Park.

Interactive demos, hands-on activities, and dynamic speakers will focus on STEM education during the San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering Expo Day at Petco Park. Festival events continue throughout the county all week.

Be entertained during the weekend Busker Festival at Seaport Village, featuring contortionists, stunt performers, circus troupes, fire breathers, acrobats, and jugglers from around the world.

 

Dancing with the Stars

March 4:

Watch ballroom dancers from the hit show Dancing with the Stars “Light Up the Night” at Copley Symphony Hall.

San Diego–born rock band Stone Temple Pilots returns to play at The Observatory North Park.

 

March 6:

Multiple musicians “turn and face the strange” as part of Celebrating David Bowie, a tribute to the late legend at Balboa Theatre.

 

March 7:

Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award–winning pianist and composer Herbie Hancock plays his jazz melodies at Balboa Theatre.

 

March 9:

Move through four days of classes at San Diego Yoga Festival, held on the sand in Imperial Beach.

City Ballet of San Diego presents three performances of Giselle, a love story set during the German Renaissance, at Spreckels Theatre.

 

March 10:

Taste nearly 100 craft brews while enjoying live bands and food trucks at the Best Coast Beer Fest at Embarcadero Marina Park South.

March 15:

Join the cinema celebración during the San Diego Latino Film Festival at AMC Fashion Valley 18, featuring over 160 movies from Latin America, Spain, and the US (through 3/25).

 

March 16:

Post up for the first and second round games of the 2018 NCAA Division I men’s basketball championship at Viejas Arena.

 

March 17:

Follow the bagpipes through Balboa Park for a lively St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Irish Festival, offering entertainment, food vendors, and plenty of flowing booze.

San Diego Opera performs the magical realism of Florencia en el Amazonas at San Diego Civic Theatre (through 3/25).

Support new play development programs and education at the La Jolla Playhouse Gala, held on-site and featuring a three-course meal with tableside sommelier, live performances, and an after-party with dancing.

Explore neighborhood hot spots for food, drinks, and shopping during the South Park Spring Walkabout.

Paint the streets green at the shamROCK St. Patrick’s Day Gaslamp Quarter block party, offering three stages of entertainment and Irish bands and dancers.

 

March 22:

Head downtown to the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego’s eXit pARTy > Up for Auction for hands-on activities, performance art, and cocktails.

 

March 23:

An all-girls mariachi band comes to life in American Mariachi at The Old Globe (through 4/29).

 

March 24:

Celebrate the traditions of Guam and the Mariana Islands during the ninth annual Chamorro Cultural Festival at Cal State San Marcos.

Prepare to be mystified while Adam Trent from magic show The Illusionists performs at Balboa Theatre.

 

March 27:

A New York–set sequel to Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, plays at San Diego Civic Theatre (through 4/1).

 

March 31:

Sip vino from over 60 wineries during the Uncorked Wine Festival at Embarcadero Marina Park North.

Lebanese American stand-up comedian and former San Diegan Nemr brings his binational humor to Balboa Theatre.

Indulge in unlimited samples at the Mission Valley Craft Beer & Food Festival at SDCCU Stadium.

During the second annual Easter Scavenger Hunt in South Park, little ones can follow a map to more than 10 participating shops serving up treats, then head to the Jeffrey Parish shop for easter eggs.
