San Diego restaurant rumors, openings, and coming-soons in June

Bar Bodega has opened in Little Italy.

Following success in South Park, Piacere Mio has opened a second location. The Del Sur restaurant serves pasta and wood-fired pizza.

Breakfast Republic has debuted a fifth restaurant in Ocean Beach, in the former OB Warehouse space.

Local organization Kitchens for Good—whose initiatives include getting people out of poverty via culinary training—has opened Cafe for Good in the Jacobs Center downtown.

Farmers’ market vendor Doggos Gus now serves their Tijuana-style bacon-wrapped hot dogs at North Park’s Twisted Taps.

After 10 years in North Park, Ritual Kitchen & Tavern has closed. In its place will be Working Class American Diner + Bar, due in the fall.

Taking over The Cheese Store of San Diego’s space, Bar Bodega has opened in Little Italy with tapas, wine, and sangria.

Little Italy’s Bracero Cocina de Raíz will become Romesco Mexiterranean Cocina this month, a spin-off of the Bonita restaurant.

Venissimo Cheese has shuttered its outpost at The Headquarters, replaced with Hi Poke, a fast-casual seafood bar.

New in Normal Heights is Nozaru Ramen Bar, helmed by Tokyo-born Hiroshi Toukairin, who also owns Clairemont’s Ototo Sushi Co. and Sushiya in Point Loma.

Bibigo has opened in Westfield UTC with customizable Korean rice bowls.
