When and Where to Root for the San Diego Aviators

World TeamTennis's 44th season kicks off this month, with a few Aviator home games at Omni La Costa Resort

Tennis, anyone? World TeamTennis kicks off its 44th season in July, with seven opportunities to root for our home team, the San Diego Aviators, at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad.

All eyes will be on 21-year-old Taylor Fritz during the home opener versus Sam Querrey of the Vegas Rollers on July 19. Fritz, a Rancho Santa Fe native, first picked up a racket when he was two and dropped out of high school as a sophomore to go pro. It’s been a volley good time ever since.

He’s competed at Junior Wimbledon, gone head to head with Roger Federer this year in the Australian Open, and, fingers crossed, will head to the WTT playoffs in Las Vegas August 2–3 to vie for the King Trophy, named after league founder Billie Jean King.

In the words of the icon herself, “Champions keep playing until they get it right.”
