Watch the world’s best sand sculptors at the 62nd annual Imperial Beach Sun & Sea Festival, whose theme this year is Superheroes in the Sand.

July 15:

Feel like a superhero at Helen Woodward Animal Center’s PAWmicon Convention pet adoption event at Hazard Center, including a costume contest and fashion show for dogs and their owners.

 

July 18:

Grab your hats because it’s off to the races for Del Mar Racetrack’s Opening Day.

Sing along to Broadway hits from Disney’s Newsies at Moonlight Amphitheatre, based on the New York City newsboys’ strike of 1899 (through 8/4).

 

July 19:

July 24:

Rapper Logic takes the stage at Mattress Firm Amphi-theatre.

 

July 27:

The world’s top female professional surfers shred in Oceanside for the Supergirl Surf Pro competition (through 7/29).

July 28:

Patti LaBelle joins the San Diego Symphony for a Bayside Summer Nights concert in Embarcadero Marina Park South.
