Sweet, Serene Sedona

By Troy Johnson

“God’s country” is, well, technically all of it. But if your Almighty had to write down a mailing address, Sedona might be it. Cradled in the shady, lush crevice of Boynton Canyon and facing a towering monolith of Sedona’s famous red rock, Enchantment Resort is where outdoorists, mystics, yogis, massage junkies, and golfers come to untether. Sip a prickly pear margarita at the View 180 patio bar. Dig into exec chef David Schmidt’s lamb sirloin at Che-Ah-Chi. Climb to the energy vortex. At the golf course Seven Canyons, they recently added an upscale gastropub (the grilled cheese, oh Lord). Teeing off on Hole 4, perched 100 feet above the valley floor, you truly grasp the beauty of dirt, glorious dirt.
