Trail of the Month: Coronado Island Perimeter

Published:

Great for
Running

Difficulty Level
Easy

Distance
6 miles

Location
Coronado

Where: Take the Coronado Bridge and park on Glorietta Boulevard by the golf course. Follow the outside perimeter of the island from Glorietta to Ocean Boulevard to Coronado Avenue to Alameda Boulevard to 1st Street. Go left at Orange Avenue through Centennial Park and then follow the bike path under the Coronado Bridge and back to your start.

Why We Love It: As the heat rises this summer, it’s time to take your workouts to the beach. Take advantage of the cooler ocean air that comes with postcard-perfect views of Coronado’s beach. This completely flat route also gives you glimpses of the Navy base and the underside of the Coronado bridge.

Where to refuel afterwards: Now’s your chance to sample from the endless brunch and lunch spots on Orange Avenue and around Coronado’s ferry landing. Try bellinis and “tosto Francese” at Il Fornaio (1333 1st Street).
