Wizards and witches aside, Dorothy and Toto are poised to run to Grumble Dog, a new smartphone app for ‘all things dog’ due in the marketplace in March 2019. The first of its kind and designed to build a dog community for dog owners and dogs exclusively, it’s the go-to resource for anything dog-related, including options like locating a highly-reviewed veterinarian in the neighborhood, promoting a doggy fundraiser, or even setting up a meet-and-greet between Toto and his pals at the local dog-park. The user-friendly Grumble Dog app could just be a dog’s new best friend and may soon be made available to dog-parents around the world as well.

According to Grumble Dog creator, Carla Newman, “Our purpose is to provide app users with the most accurate and updated information, involving the best quality dog services, events, parks, lost and found notifications, etc. At the same time, we want to help out dog-related businesses like veterinarians, pet stores, groomers, dog walkers, kennels and trainers.”

For sure, as much as dog owners love their four-legged family members, their dogs love them right back, providing endless opportunities for their owners to become socially involved and keep fit as pet families engage within their community. Health benefits from dog ownership are often reported like reduced stress, less depression and improved heart health. According to Psychology Today, dog owners in general are more likely to experience a greater volume of positive emotions, no doubt resulting from an uptick in feel-good neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine as they interact with their furry pals. Fewer doctors’ visits are reported by dog owners, which seems to indicate that their canine friends do their tail-wagging best to increase their owner’s wellbeing.

Now Looming large on the big dog horizon is the Grumble Dog app, just about ready for smartphones and the flying fingers of dog lovers nationwide. As reported by the Pew Research Center, 77% of Americans—about 250 million people—are smartphone users, with one in five accessing the Internet via their smartphones entirely. And now those users may connect handily with like-minded fur-baby parents through the Grumble Dog app. Dog owners looking for chances for social interaction and dog-related resources available within their own neighborhoods are ecstatic about finding a single app for everything related to caring for and enjoying their fur-children. Additionally, in the works is a pet tracker that attaches to a dog’s collar and also monitors their physical activity. Whether a dog has wandered a few blocks away or has somehow hitched a ride across the country, a beloved pet need not be forever lost to his family.

Businesses offering pet-related services are also delighted about the possibilities for the app. With big box stores and Internet giants offering related products and services, it can be hard for small businesses to get an even break. The Grumble Dog app allows these people access to a wider market and delivers a convenient venue to highlight their offerings, frequently creating more personalized service and value for their customers in the bargain.
