Just a few months after its San Diego debut at Westfield UTC, Shake Shack has opened a second location in Mission Valley.

Korean dessert shop Somi Somi has opened on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa, serving fish-shaped pastry cones filled with soft serve and red bean, custard, or Nutella.

Spitz, the döner kebab eatery with board games, has closed in Hillcrest.

Lemon Grove’s latest is Giardino Neighborhood Cucina, an Italian spot with two patios, happy hour, and a menu of pizza, pasta, and meat entrées.

Former appointment-only distillery and tasting room Seven Caves in Miramar is now operating with regular hours, serving pours of its award-winning rum.

Previously a pop-up at University Heights’ Park & Rec bar, Royale (née Royale with Cheese) has taken over the Sessions Public space in Point Loma. There will be grass-fed burgers, patty melts, egg sandwiches, cocktails, and kombucha.

LA’s Sweetfin Poké has opened a San Diego outpost at Westfield UTC.

Crown Point has a new caffeine option with The Grounds Bean Bar, a stylish café serving coffee, kombucha, and more.
