Taking Your Retirement on the Road

Whether you're RVing across America or jet-setting across the globe, senior travelers should take care with their safety and expenses in vacation-filled retirement days.

Whether you’re RVing across America or jet-setting across the globe, senior travelers should take care with their safety and expenses in vacation-filled retirement days. Tune up your driving skills and refresh your roadside knowledge with help from the Automobile Club of Southern California. Seniors can help prolong their driving years by attending educational classes, learning how to sharpen their reflexes, and learning how to make adjustments to their cars in order to create a more comfortable fit. To help maturing drivers, the Auto Club offers numerous traffic safety and educational programs such as online training courses, senior mobility expos and events, and senior educational resources.

Three tips to help senior drivers stay safe:

  • Regulate or restrict driving to the times of day or environments they feel safest in; minimize night, freeway, or confusing intersection driving
  • Correct hearing and/or vision conditions
  • Know how medications may affect driving abilities
