I Tried It: The 30 Clean
After a month of overindulgence, I needed to get my eating back on track: Enter The 30 Clean

The 30 Clean. Plans start at $85 per month.
After a month of overindulgence, I needed to get my eating back on track. Enter The 30 Clean, which includes a three-day meal outline, start-up guide, daily emails with recipes and health tips, and a 30-day pass to a private Facebook group with other participants.
That last part is the key. The idea is to post a photo of every bite consumed for 30 days. A Clean Coach chimes in with comments, calling out any missteps or praising a well-balanced day. A health advisor is also on hand to offer a nutritionist’s perspective.
Knowing I had to photograph every meal made me much more careful about my choices. The best part was the instant feedback. When I complained that I was ravenous on day two, the Clean Coach responded immediately, suggesting more protein and healthy fats.
It was inspiring to see a parade of beautiful, healthy meals in my Facebook feed, and with the help of this virtual support team, I avoided sugar, dairy, grains, gluten, soy, and corn for 30 days. (Blessedly, the plan does allow two alcoholic drinks a week.)
By the end, I was sleeping like a rock, had kicked my late-night snack habit, and had even lost some inches. It was cheaper than a nutritionist and made for a fun way to get a jump-start on the new year.
