Tastemaker: Southern Gentleman
Influenced by his Texas roots and known for his classic style, Robert Wright, 59, has designed the interiors of some of San Diego’s most stunning homes. Here are a few of his tricks of the trade
Current Job: President and owner of Bast | Wright Interiors
Background: Robert began his career in Houston, and later worked in corporate interiors in Denver. By 1984, San Diego’s Parron Hall Office Interiors recruited him to be its design director. Robert has also served as the national president of American Society of Interior Designers.
Personal Style: “By the book” clean-line contemporary. But recently, I’ve allowed more of my own eclectic tastes and love of fine art to complement my spaces.
Design Philosophy: Don’t rush. Design is only better when it has the proper amount of time for contemplation and development.
