Little Italy Happy Hours
1646 India Street, Little Italy
The Scene: Though the food has soul here, it reminds us of the busy restaurant across the street in Big Night; lots of air kissing, hugging, and dolce vita. Drink: Bar manager Dane Phoenix makes a mean maple Old Fashioned spiked with Four Roses single barrel bourbon, his house-made cinnamon syrup, and orange cinnamon bitters. Daily happy hour is 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cocktails are $2 off and bottled beers are half off. House whites are $5 and house reds are $6. Nibble: Chef Chris O’Donnell is quietly and consistently turning out some of the best food in San Diego; all appetizers are $3 off, including his stellar citrus-glazed pork belly with spiced apple purée.

The special starts up again from 10 p.m. to close. Nibble: With sangria, you’ll want something Spanish, like spicy patatas bravas or manchego and membrillo. All the tapas are just $4 from 3 p.m. to closing.
