The Parade of Lights on San Diego Bay

Still mourning over the Fourth of July fiasco, we’re looking forward to the annual Parade of Lights boat brigade on December 9 and 16. More than 80 boats are expected to participate in the 41st annual twinklefest that begins off the banks of Shelter Island, idles along Harbor Island, and continues up to the Coronado waterfront. Decorate your boat for a chance at $4,000 in prizes (tip: the judges sit at the end of Harbor Island, so get the crowd to cheer for you as you turn toward downtown), or just bring your own cocoa and watch the parade from the park behind Seaport Village.
