Why We Love It

Lake Poway is most commonly called the gateway to Mount Woodson Trail, better known as the Potato Chip Rock hike, but this loop is an easier alternative. It’s mostly flat, with a few steep places that will still give you a good workout.

Where to Refuel

At Wholly Crepe (14045 Midland Road), go for sweet crepes, like the Monkey Turtle with pecans, marshmallows, banana, whipped cream, and caramel and chocolate sauce; or savory, like the Southwest with garlic butter chicken, bacon, avocado, cheese, and chipotle sauce.
