They’re calling Arrogate the world’s best racehorse, and he’s charging into Del Mar this summer. In just one year of racing, the Bob Baffert–trained colt has won $17 million, making him the highest-earning North American–based thoroughbred ever—in part due to a $6 million win at the Dubai World Cup in March. Despite a muddy track and long trip from California, he went from last place to first, passing 13 horses and winning by more than two horse lengths.

Jockey Mike Smith will race Arrogate at the San Diego Handicap July 22 and August 19 at the Pacific Classic—and at the Breeders’ Cup in Del Mar this November.
