The Best Of Ensenada

Welcome to Ensenada!

During your stay I invite you to explore our beautiful port city and peaceful wine country. Our coastal town is home to an abundance of culture, recreation, gastronomic adventures, and warm hospitality. Wander along the waterfront and explore our Mercado Negro, where fishermen bring in the daily catch and the treasures from the sea. Enjoy our local cuisine—our talented chefs and winemakers have received international recognition for our farm-to-table cuisine, fresh seafood, and delicious wines. We have everything from oceanfront fine dining to our famed seafood carts on the street corners.

Ensenada also hosts several respected annual events that are internationally recognized, such as our Newport Beach to Ensenada International Yacht Race, a sailing regatta now in its 68th year. The SCORE International Baja 1000 off-road race starts in Ensenada and is considered among the top 10 best races in the world. For more than 35 years, thousands of cyclists have pedaled along the coast during our biannual Rosarito–Ensenada Bike Race. In this cultural and educational hub, you’ll also find museums, historic buildings, world-class artist performances, respected universities, and scientific research centers.

Mexico’s thriving wine country can be found right in our backyard. Along La Ruta del Vino in Guadalupe Valley or La Antigua Ruta del Vino to the south and Ojos Negros to the east, you’ll discover more than 100 vineyards and many wonderful settings to taste wine and drink in the scenic beauty of the countryside. Ensenada is considered the biggest municipality in México, so do not forget to explore its vast natural resources south of the city, from Santo Tomás and San Quintín to Cataviñá and Bahía de los Ángeles, where national forests, desert oases, amazing seafood, incredible beaches on the Pacific, and pristine water in the Gulf of California await you.

After exploring Ensenada we think you’ll understand why our residents are so passionate about their hometown. With our proximity to the border, lovely temperate climate, dynamic culinary scene, exciting events, and natural beauty, Ensenada is an endless adventure.

Thank you for visiting. We hope you come back again soon.
