Looking for a minimally invasive solution to your varicose veins? Minimally Invasive Therapies (MIT) at Del Mar Vein Care fosters excellence in the management of blood vessel disorders and pain syndromes through education, research, and patient care, in a state-of-the-art center located conveniently in the Del Mar Plaza. The clinic was established by interventional radiologists Dr. Donald Ponec, Dr. Richard Saxon, Dr. Justin Gooding, and Dr. Zachary Rattner, who are joined by pain-management specialist and interventional neuroradiologist Dr. Bassem Georgy. The group is dedicated to providing enhanced care through advanced technology.
“We offer comprehensive endovascular management of blood vessel disease,” says Dr. Justin Gooding, medical director for the clinic. “Minimally invasive, image-guided technologies may be used to diagnose and treat a variety of circulatory problems ranging from blocked arteries to varicose veins. Patients with varicose veins may benefit from endovenous laser treatment (EVLT), which can be performed during a brief office visit, and unlike surgery, requires minimal recovery time. Women with uterine fibroids may elect to undergo uterine fibroid embolization as an effective alternative to hysterectomy. Image-guided procedures are also being increasingly employed in the evaluation and treatment of cancer and other diseases.”
Leading San Diego County in innovation for minimally invasive care, the physicians actively participate in many FDA sponsored clinical trials, and maintain hospital privileges throughout North County. Their combined experience includes over 100,000 interventional procedures over the last 10-20 years. All physicians maintain board certification in radiology with fellowship training and certificates of added qualification in interventional radiology or neuroradiology.
