Mac is Back

It was a thing, then it wasn't. Now it is, again.

By Erin Jackson

Once the domain of kid cuisine, mac and cheese is making another comeback. Besides landing on menus around town, it’s the focus of Bazinga Eatery, a kid-friendly spot in North Park where you can carb-load with fried mac and cheese balls, mac and cheese pizza, and 10 different takes on the classic dish. For purists, there’s a sharp Cheddar, Fontina, and mozzarella cheese mac with cavatappi pasta and a crispy panko topping, but it pays to order something more adventurous, like the Chorizo, with smoky cubes of chorizo, roasted poblano peppers, jalapeños, and spiced chicharrón crumbled on top.
