Playing Through

New Golf Show on Fox Sports

1st Tee at Sawgrass

Imagine hitting balls at your local driving range when a seemingly nice gentleman walks right up to you (preferably not in the middle of your backswing) and cheerfully asks if you would like to play golf with him. At first it might seem odd but you quickly remind yourself, “Hey….this is GOLF we are talking about!” and you answer with a resounding YES!

The next thing you know your round of golf is paid for and you are standing on the first tee of a golf course you have always wanted to play. Your playing partner is someone you have seen in a variety of tv shows and now he is telling you that not only are you going to be playing this golf course together, but you will have a chance to win various prizes like golf equipment, restaurant gift certificates, apparel, rounds of golf, etc. by completing interesting (and sometimes outrageous) challenges on the course. And…oh yeah….this will all be filmed and will air on Fox Sports.

This is exactly what takes place in the new show, Playing Through. Hosted by a very quick witted and charming John Weisbarth, we as viewers are able to witness a weekend warrior get treated to the round of his or her life and compete in some of the wildest golf challenges you’ve ever seen.

What makes the show so interesting is the ability for the viewer to relate to what it would be like to be in the shoes of the featured golfer while at the same time, learning some new and interesting games you can try with your playing partners during your next round of golf.

With the debut of their first 5 shows, Playing Through has expanded into more than 30 markets across the country. They are producing a total of 16 new episodes with the first one airing Sunday, March 9 on Fox Sports San Diego.

Kinda makes you put a little more thought into what to wear the next time you head to the driving range to hit balls, doesn’t it?
