Spotted at our Best of San Diego Party: Melani of Tap Hunter Wearing a Wild Anniversary Present

You have to see this jewelry to believe it

Published:

At our annual Best of San Diego Party, which went down on Friday night, I ran into Melani and Jeff Gordon of Tap Hunter, the site that tells you what beers are on tap at your favorite bar.

(For a bit of background, read Erin Chambers Smith’s profile of the couple in our August issue, in which we learn that Jeff once shipped Melani a case of beer for Valentine’s Day).

At the party, I noticed Melani proudly wearing a rather unusual necklace. It was a nameplate necklace, but it didn’t spell out “Melani.” It spelled out, “Taphunter.” I couldn’t get over it! Jeff told me he’d had it personalized for the couple’s five-year anniversary.

Of course I grilled her—"Come on, wouldn’t you have preferred some diamonds?" Nope! She loooooved her necklace. It’s pretty novel and I dug her unexpected enthusiasm. Way to go, Jeff! Keep the gifts coming.

What would you do if your husband gave you a necklace with your company’s name on it? Sound off in the comments!
