Grab your sweetheart — or a friend, or grandparent, or anyone else you wouldn’t mind spending an evening with — and ring in the season of love at Suzie’s Farm. The South Bay favorite is throwing its first annual Sweetheart Dance to celebrate love and the community this Saturday, February 11.

“With so much negativity in the world, we wanted to host an event that celebrates our connections with each other,” says Meg Schroth, Suzie’s Farm’s event and education director. “Valentine’s Day seemed like the perfect opportunity to bring people together and serve as a reminder that displaying affection and gratitude makes for a happier and healthier community.”

There will be live music, an outdoor dance floor, bonfires, and wood-fired pizzas and drinks for purchase. For a more romantic touch, bring your own picnic and consume it under the stars. And don’t forget to bring a warm jacket!

If dinner and dancing doesn’t float your boat, an actual ship might. In honor of Valentine’s Day, the Maritime Museum is inviting couples onboard the San Salvador during its Sweetheart Sail event on February 11 and 12. Grab a glass of champagne and prepare for a three hour scenic tour of the bay on one of San Diego’s most iconic ships.
