On today’s Happy Half Hour hosts Erin Chambers Smith and Troy Johnson and producer Archana Ram share all the latest in dining and drinking news, like Bird Rock Coffee Roasters’ big win with Coffee Review, an international review organization that selected and ranked 30 coffee varieties out of thousands. They chose Bird Rock’s Kanya Guama Peaberry as the top pick and their Sumatra Tano Batak at number 27. In other news, El Zarape has opened a new outpost on Adams Avenue and Larry’s Deli is now open in the East Village.

We also chat about the Port of San Diego’s big plans to launch an oyster nursery off the G Street Pier.

Plus, the husband-and-wife team behind Le Parfait Paris—the local bakery with locations in the Gaslamp, Liberty Station, and Little Italy—stop by to tell us about moving from France to San Diego, running a bakery, and the most challenging thing about operating a restaurant downtown.
