File it under career highlights: The day we spent at Jazzercise founder Judi Sheppard Missett’s house in Vista was both memorable and inspiring. Judi asked me not to divulge her age, but let’s just say that she looks fantastic, and is full of wisdom.

Read the story from the May issue and take a photo tour of her home here. In the shot above, associate art director Gloria Tebleman and I learn a routine from Judi and her daughter, Shanna. Note: It’s hard to really shake it while wearing skinny jeans and a silk blouse. But alas, we kicked off our shoes and went for it anyway. Jazz hands all around…

Pop Art

This work of art is an Andy Warhol original. The subject, Cassius Clay, is perhaps better known as Muhammad Ali.

Model Home

Batter-Kay architects use detailed models as a tool during the planning phases of their projects. When Judi saw one of her own house, she asked them to make her one she could keep. They obliged, and this model now lives in Judi’s office, alongside artwork by her son.

Gone Swimming

That’s Judi’s husband Jack in the pool. The triathlete swims almost daily, and was more than happy to jump in during the photo shoot.
