South of the Border in Beer (and Bites)

San Diego is widely known to serve the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. But what about the beer? Two Latino-owned breweries are attempting to put San Diego on the map for more than just tacos and enchiladas.

Located in the heart of Barrio Logan, family-owned Border X Brewing is setting itself apart from the craft crowd by infusing its beer with a flavor of Latin America. Try the award-winning, hibiscus-flavored Blood Saison!

Two brothers from Chula Vista—the minds behind one of Tijuana’s most popular craft breweries—have been staying busy on a collaboration with San Diego’s Stone Brewing Co. Their Mexican-inspired Xocoveza Mocha Stout hits retail shops soon.

In the mood for more Mexican flavors? Check out this month’s Very Important Taco from Puesto, and indulge in these cinnamon churro puffs from Don Chido.
