Mashable was the original creator of the event meet ups held nationally, getting cities all over the U.S. to declare June 30th Social Media Day. Proclamation Social Media DaySan Diego can be added to the list this year as Mayor Jerry Sanders declared June 30th Social Media Day. There will be drinks, hors d’oeuvres, mingling and plenty of giveaways at the Marina Kitchen inside the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina this Saturday. The first 100 guests will receive a gift bag full of goodies. This event is free and open to social media gurus of all levels. Mari Smith author of multiple social media books such as The New Relationship Marketing will also be making an appearance and getting social with attendees.
