Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon

Being a marathoner comes with unexpected perks

Rock 'n' Roll Marathon San Diego 2012

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon
June 2, 2013
Marathon start: 6:15
Half marathon start: 6:45

Some 30,000 runners will take to the streets this Sunday for the Rock ‘n’ Roll half marathon and marathon races.  With slightly different race routes, both sets of runners will wind their way through central San Diego neighborhoods before finishing at Petco Park.

If 26.2 miles isn’t excitement enough, the finish line will feature lots of goodness for those still with it enough to take part. There will be free smoothies from Jamba Juice, live entertainment and other refreshments for refueling. Runners also get post-race discounts like 15% off at East Village Tavern & Bowl and buy 1, get 1 at local Chipotle locations.

Don’t worry if you aren’t a runner, there are perks for spectators too. Stop by Shakespeare Pub & Grille in Mission Hills for a $3 mimosa and traditional English breakfast. The rooftop patio offers prime views for watching runners pass by. Lucky’s Lunch Counter, located in the East Village, is giving race supporters 20% off breakfast, just mention you’re a fan.

Find out more about running (or watching) the races at the official Rock ‘n’ Roll website.
