La Jolla Music Society’s New Orleans Jazz Series

Enjoy a soulful evening of music with Marcia Ball

If you’re looking for an introduction to the music of the south, there is no better event for your initial listen than this Saturday’s concert at Balboa Theatre. The La Jolla Music Society presents Marcia Ball with Sonny Landreth, Cindy Cashdollar and Terrance Simien.

The accolades on Marcia’s musical resume are impressive: eight Blues Music Awards, a recent win for Best Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year and she’s been an inductee into the Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame.

Marcia’s accompanying musicians’ accomplishments are equally remarkable. Rod Stewart, Van Morrison, Ryan Adams and Bob Dylan are names that steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar counts as collaborators – either in the studio or in performances.
