1. Contestants must be unsigned without a current record or publishing deal.
2. Must be original lyrics and music that is original material. SDM/Curtco LLC, Curtco Media Labs and Sophie Radio are not liable for any suits claimed for violation of copyright and licensing infringements from covering a previously recorded song.
3. Contestants may enter from anywhere in the world.
4. Contestants must be a minimum of 13 years of age.
5. Songs may be any genre or style of music.
6. Songs must be sung in the English language.
7. Songs must be original and about San Diego.
8. Performances may NOT be lip-synched - must be recorded live.
9. Songs may be acapella or performed with live accompaniment.
10. Entries must be received prior to June, 17 2009.
11. In order to move to the next phase, a contestant must accumulate fan votes on their profile to prove their power to win fans. Voting will begin July 1, 2009 and end July 31, 2009.
12. All submissions are permissible to be utilized in future promotions by San Diego Magazine.
13. The potential YOUR SONG winner must respond to the producers with their acceptance by August 7, 2009 or an alternate will be selected from runners-up.
14. Employees of SDM/Curtco LLC, Curtco Media Labs, our competition partners, participating companies, and their ad agencies, (and members of the immediate families of each) may not enter.
15. All finalists qualify for evaluation by the YOUR SONG judging panel.
16. Judges reserve the right to promote any contestant to finalist status based upon talents and regardless of votes.
17. YOUR SONG WINNER will be announced at the August 28th best of San Diego party.

Three finalists were selected: the person with the highest amount of votes, San Diego Magazine's choice, as well as Sophie Radio's pick. These finalists will perform at the Best of San Diego® Party on August 28th, where a panel of judges will decide the winner.
