Friday, November 6: Silent Film Festival
The Encinitas Theatre Consortium presents the Silent Film Festival, running through Sunday at La Paloma Theatre. The festival will pay homage to the silent film era’s leading lady, Mary Pickford, by showing four of her classic movies. The tribute begins Friday with Pickford’s My Best Girl. more info »

Saturday, November 7: Outdoor Outreach Presents Puzzle Pursuit
Break out your investigative skills and participate in the inaugural Puzzle Pursuit in Balboa Park. Participants must sign up in teams with whom they will race throughout the scenic park, all while solving clues and piecing together difficult brain twisters. Teams cap at four members and each group must raise a minimum of $100, which will be donated to Outdoor Outreach, a nonprofit that helps underprivileged and at-risk kids. more info »

Saturday, November 7: Matt Costa at the Casbah
Skateboarder turned smooth crooner Matt Costa will serenade audiences Saturday with a live concert. Catch Costa’s whimsical musical styling and emotion-driven lyrics when he performs at the Casbah. more info »

Sunday, November 8: Larry King at the San Diego Jewish Book Fair
Check out CNN television host and journalist Larry King, one of the guest lecturers for the 15th annual event. The fair has been featuring authors and their literary works since mid-October, with King’s presentation and book signing serving as one of the highlights. more info »
