Designer Travel Bags

A PAINTER WHO TOOK LESSONS from a French artist when he was 7, 27-yearold Rian Berry went beyond Pacific Northwest galleries when he met his wife, Julie. “We sat in a restaurant talking about what type of work we could do together,” says Berry, “and we sketched the idea on a napkin.” The napkin image became Rian Handbags, featuring original illustrations of destination cities including Paris, London, New York and San Francisco. The original watercolors are scanned digitally and printed on high-quality leather bags. The “Tower” and “Taxi-Cab” bags are functional art—perfect for travel ($305, rianhandbags.com).
