Milking the Fro-Yo Craze
Yogurtland draws crowds in Pacific Beach
SAN DIEGO DAILY
My friends can’t stop raving about a place that just opened last month in a far away land. Actually, it’s only in Pacific Beach, but it is a land – Yogurtland.
I finally journeyed with them to see what the buzz was all about. With "fro-yo" places lining corners like Starbucks these days, I wondered what would make this place different. Apparently the rest of the world also decided to visit Yogurtland that same night. The place was packed with people of all ages tasting different flavors — from vanilla and mint chocolate to pumpkin and pistachio.
It’s self-serve frozen yogurt and toppings, so you can make odd combinations yourself and not get weird looks. Along with the many flavored fro-yo choices, Yogurtland is not lacking in the topping department. Sweet, sour, crunchy or anything else you are feeling, it has.
I stuck with the fruit flavors — a combination of mango and peach — and then topped it off with fresh strawberries, blueberries and mini chocolate chips. It was delicious!
So what’s the catch? Obviously this place must be outrageously overpriced, right? Actually, at 30 cents an ounce for toppings and the frozen yogurt, this place is pretty cheap. It's the Costco of fro-yo places, and just what I’ve been looking for.
Yogurtland has two locations in San Diego right now — in Pacific Beach, and near San Diego State University. Soon, however, you can find them in Mission Valley and Little Italy. With the way my first journey went, I’ll be visiting one of these lands again soon.
Yogurtland is located at 855 Garnet Avenue, 858-581-1700, and 6165 El Cajon Boulevard, Suite N, 619-287-9888, and soon at 1680 India Street in Little Italy and 676 Hazard Center Drive in Mission Valley. For more information, visit yogurt-land.com.

I love Yogurt-land. I chose the plain yogurt and topped it off with plenty of fruit. It is SO much cheaper then some of those OTHER yogurt places..
