Temecula Wine Country

Personally guided bike tours through the wine country with stops at a number of wineries, such as Maurice Carrie and Mount Palomar, are available through Gravity Activated Sports.

All of the wineries are open to the public for tasting, with several offering tours. Many offer picnic areas where visitors can either north or southbound off Interstate 15 at Rancho California Road in Temecula.

This area, just an hour north of downtown San Diego, boasts a wide assortment of vineyards, large and small, where visitors can elbow up to the oak bar and taste fumé blanc, Chardonnay and petite sirah. The award-winning Callaway Vineyard & Winery and the Thornton Winery feature guided tours, picnic grounds and dining, including special events and entertainment throughout the summer.
